Back again with the monthly updates! Here's a quick rundown of what's going to happen across the ARTCC over the next month.

**Admin:**

* Work continues on updates to the Facility Policy, with hopes of releasing the updated version soon.
* A brand-new ZLC SOP is planned for release this week, including a dedicated Flight Data section.
* Work is beginning on updates to military procedures and documentation.
* Controllers continue transitioning to the new Terrain Modeling system.
* Daily ARTCC operations continue to be overseen to ensure everything is running smoothly.
* Additional efforts are being made to increase training availability for all students.

**Training:**

* Development of the new training syllabus is ongoing (and proving to be more complicated than expected!).
* Continued work on the Probationary I1 program.
* New SLC Tower Sweatbox scenarios are being developed.
* Training time standards are being created and maintained to improve consistency across the training program.
* A request has been submitted for Hill AFB (KHIF) to become a T2 training facility.

**Web:**

* Development of the new website continues.
* Ongoing testing and bug fixes are being completed for Scheddy.
* The new website is now serving as the primary ZLC website and is currently in a heavy beta testing phase as feedback and improvements continue.

**Events:**

* Planning is underway for additional community events.
* Coordination with neighboring ARTCCs continues for future SNOs, FNOs, and other collaborative events.

**FE:**

* Numerous TCP updates have been completed thanks to the vNRCC project.
* SAID-related updates have been completed.
* Development of the new SLC Ramp position is underway.
* The SLC Ramp SOP is currently being finalized and is expected to be released in early August.

# 🛫 The New ZLC Website Is Live

The new Salt Lake City ARTCC website is now live at **https://zlcartcc.org**. The address has not changed, but everything behind it has.

This site is the result of a considerable amount of work by @Mike Simon, the majority of it done quietly and behind the scenes. The finished product speaks for itself, and it is a significant step forward for the facility. If you see him on the network or in the server, please pass along your thanks.

## ⚠️ Please Note: This Is Still a Beta

The site remains in beta, and bugs are expected. If you encounter something broken, please do not assume it has already been reported.

Report issues in and include:
- The page you were on
- What you were doing when the issue occurred
- A screenshot, if available

That level of detail is what allows us to turn a fix around quickly.

## 🧹 Clear Your Browser Cache

We have moved off of ADH. Because the new site is hosted on the same domain, your browser may still be serving a cached copy of the old version. If the site looks unchanged, this is why.

To force a refresh:
- **Windows / Linux:** `Ctrl + Shift + R`
- **macOS:** `Cmd + Shift + R`
- **Mobile, or if the above does not work:** clear your browser cache for the site, or open it in a private/incognito window to verify

ADH has been fully decommissioned. Going forward, the new site is where all updates will be published.

* Continued progress is being made on the new website.
* Ongoing testing and bug fixes are taking place on both Scheddy and the website preview environment to prepare for release.

* Coordination with neighboring ARTCCs is underway for future SNOs, FNOs, and additional collaborative events.

FE:

Hello Everyone!

Back again with the monthly updates for May. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s been happening across the ARTCC.

**Admin:**
- Discussions on updates to facility policy are underway.
- S56 updates and an LOA are coming soon.
- Coordination with ZLA and ZOA on military procedures is ongoing.
- Work will also begin on adding a Flight Data section to ZLC documentation.
- Terrain Modeling is coming soon as well.

**Training:**
- Training operations continue transitioning to the new training site.
- A training meeting was held this month to discuss ongoing initiatives and changes.
- The team also worked with FE on the Dugway SOP and MAP 151-153 updates.

**Web:**
- Austin is getting acquainted with the new role and working with the web team to get up to speed.
- The new website continues to be polished for a planned Q2 2026 release.
- Work continues on Scheddy integration with the VATUSA API to streamline training operations.
- A new Discord sync has also been added through training.zlcartcc.org/discord.

**Events:**
- Work is ongoing for the June 5th FNO.
- Planning is underway for the next SLC Sunday.
- The Events Team is also being restructured while plans for a new weekly event series are developed.

**FE:**
- FE continues transitioning into the new role structure.
- “Bad pilot commands” were added to the alias file — see the scratchpad for details.
- The alias file is ready for AIRAC 2605 (May 14, 2026).
- Airways in ERAM are now autogenerated each AIRAC cycle.
- The Dugway Range Facility project is in progress and pending documentation.

Goals for the month include updating maps for AIRAC changes, updating alias documentation, reviewing the new STARS release, and updating the SLC Tower cab once the new taxiway configuration is finalized.

The new ZLC website is now available for preview at https://preview.zlcartcc.org/ — a ground-up rebuild with a modern, polished experience for our controllers and community.

**What's new:**
• Live dashboard with real-time controller, pilot & weather data
• Interactive sector map showing who's online
• Events with sign-up & staffing management
• Controller roster, endorsement badges & activity leaderboard
• Praise wall, Discord news feed & pilot arrival/departure tools

Training Management (training.zlcartcc.org) remains independent with new features including Training Notes & streamlined session management.

**Try to break it.** Test edge cases, click around, use different devices and browsers — bugs are expected, that's why we're here.

Hello Everyone!

I am back with the monthly updates here. Not much has changed in the last week or two. But here ya go!

Admin
- Roster removals were done yesterday. Remember, you need to get 3 hours of controlling per quarter to maintain currency per ZLC Policy 7210.1B.
- The ZDV-ZLC MVAP Policy was canceled last month. I have chosen to honor the policy through April 1 since at the time of cancelation, there was less than 30 days left before currency would kick in. ZDV folks, I will keep everyone on as VC's through the end of this quarter. If the 3 hour requirement isn't met, then I will remove folks from the roster on July 1.
- Cam is getting up to speed on DATM role.
- Still looking for a webmaster, but thanks to many folks on tech team and within the center, we will have a preview of a new website up this month.
- Working on more SOP updates as well.
- Will be working on ZLC specific Military Guide.

Training:
- Hired a bunch of new MIT's.
- Adam is working on a bunch of admin stuff as the new TA.

Events:
- Resume SLC Sundays, starting again on May 10th
- Finalize plans for a FNO and potentially a SNO with ZSE.
- Finalize plans for June 5th FNO
- Prep for Boxed In FNO

FE: Andres is Transitioning into new role.
- Update alias file doc,
- Adding 'bad pilot commands',
- Update SLC twr cab (no 14/32) including ATC trainer file once new taxiway config is known.
- Will add some more aliases for Military Stuff

I am honored to step into the role of Deputy Air Traffic Manager here at ZLC. I’m excited to help support the ARTCC and its members as we continue to grow.

A little about me:

I grew up in Billings and Bozeman, Montana, before moving to the East Coast. I currently work in a hospital and am pursuing my flight training on the side. On VATSIM, I bring experience serving as a Facility Engineer, Mentor, and Instructor, which has given me a strong passion for training and supporting others.

If you have any questions, ideas, feedback, or just want to chat, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m here to help however I can.
